Like TheLostAngel, I usually have horrible, horrible luck with tournaments. On a whim, though, yesterday I joined an enclave tourney. Had a pretty good xeno deck with a couple anti-xeno strike cards (strike xeno 2 structure and strike xeno 2 regenerate 2 imperial) and arc trooper. I started off well but simply ran into 90% pure anti-xeno decks so I was pretty much screwed.
I went back to the tourney page and noticed gold packs, so I gave it one more try. I first noticed ... omg. Atlas? Tiamat? There was also a stormrunner and a couple other imperials and two pelicans, so I put this together:
I later found out it was a 24 hour tournament, but I got into the top 5% with 9/2 (then 12/4 after losing 2 battles and dropping below and winning 3 to catch up again). Today I slipped down slightly so I won another battle for 13/4 and seem to be holding steady. There's 1 hour left and I'm pretty excited to see how things go and what I get.
I kind of wonder if I would be able to push into the front, but I'm still a tournament rookie (this is my 11th entry) so I don't want to jeopardize my first success.
