I hate tournaments Empty I hate tournaments

in every ones I done I just be able to do well in one. It's like the others always have a better card then me everyturn. No matter what I put on the field they have better... If I'm able to win 20% of my fight it's good... always finish around 920points it's terrible... I hate it... maybe I'm really not good enough but F**K it's annoying.

it's like spending 5000 bucks for a poor card all the time... And Damn it's slow. take 5 min per fight.

I'm just desperate on that part of the game.

I know what you mean about them always having a perfect response. On the rare occasion I get to go second I've got a good response about 1/5 of the time. Razz

But I'm sure those who do better have a great deal more experience with what works and doesn't in tourneys (which pays off even more when they get lucky cards).

I think this topic is in the wrong area. It isn't offtopic since it is about tyrant. Anyways, one of the other members posted a topic on how to do tournaments and what is important. He put luck as being a part of tournaments but it was the least important thing. Everybody in the top 10% got amazing cards. Luck I would say is a big playing factor in being thing the top 50% and top 25%. I have had it where a third of the cards that I opened up were commanders, and Duncan was the best one. Having 0 drops in that format can be very important. As far as standard. I have to fight tooth and nail to try to get in the top 25%. It seems what ever I do, my opponent has a counter move for it. Standard can be very frustrating becuase there are so many powerful card being played. And with abilities being random, some of it in standard can be luck. I have notice that the 50% chance actually work in tournament play. I tend not to miss flying 90% of the time, and mimic does seem to be complete random as opposed to go against the computer and everything is rigged. Sorry for the near essay sized rant. This is most of the stuff I have noticed with tournaments.

I wrote here, because that was just about my own frustration, but I agree if something useful can be made with this discution, that could be nice to make a guide.

Yes luck, it's the biggest part of that. The only one that I won 10/99 (just to said I was not in the top 10% Wink ) I got one unique card and one legendary, who are made to work together. rally with a bersek it's really strong. But it's the only one. all the other I was under 1000 points, who's put you under 50%. I mean, in a normal fight with my deck, I win around 90% of my fights, and in tournament if I won 10% it's HUGE. Maybe I'm really not enough good to play on those tournaments, but I done pretty well in the rest. (who seems to show that I'm not so bad). I just don't know what to do, maybe I was just absolutly unlucky.

hmmm.... I love Gold sealed tournaments. I've actually never dropped below 50% in Gold tourneys. (I hate enclave tourneys though)

Overall, I'm 160-82 in 17 total tournaments (Wish I never played Enclave or Mixed).
Got top 1% once, top 5% twice, top 10% once, top 25% and top 50% many times.

Yes, luck is involved. But knowing which cards are good is equally important. You have to know when to play and when to just collect the top 50% reward. Card timing and diversifying your deck is also important. You have to recognize which common and uncommon cards are good (even better than a lot of rare cards).

For rare, getting 1 of Atlas, Sabre, or EMP is basically getting a guaranteed top 10% finish.
